A brief round up of the recent boat shows at Hiswa, Cannes, Newport and Southampton, where Najad yachts were very well received indeed!

Cannes International Boat & Yacht Show

September 8th - 13th 2010

New visitors and old Najad friends honored us by enjoying their time onboard the Najad 570 we had on display.

The new beginning of our co-operation with Patrick Lecompt and Franck Doudet at SMN in Port Grimaud was a great occasion in Cannes. In spite of all huge "mega-yachts" on display at the show, the Najad 570  was a distinctive and attractive presence , showing a yacht that is more than good enough in both size and comfort for the Cote d’Azur.

This was confirmed by comments from the visitors from (especially) France and also from Italy and many other countries who enjoyed the excellent sunny weather - making the need of the Bimini obvious!

Hiswa Boat Show

The Hiswa boat show drew the same impressive number of visitors as last year and the weather was beautiful during the show.

The combined Najad and Maxi stand drew - as usual -  a lot of visitors. On display were the Najad 380 and Najad 440 CC and from Maxi Yachts, the Maxi 1060 and the Maxi 1300.

The follow-up will be on the weekend of the 25th and 26th of September. A lot of test sails with both the Maxi and Najad boats are planned for that weekend - and we're sure we will have some new (and very happy!) customers.

Newport International Boat Show

September 16th -19th 2010

Excellent weather certainly seemed to help swell the crowds at Newport where we were showing the Najad 570 which proved very popular with visitors - most of the comments seemed to be about the elegance of the lines and the very generous amount of internal space.  A very successful boat show indeed.

Southampton Boat Show

September 10th - 19th 2010

The Southampton Boat Show is the UK’s leading outdoor boat show.

We only had positive comments on all our boats displayed at the show.  Maxi  has a very strong and loyal customer base, with owners who have a great affection for the brand. Without exception, they were very impressed with what Najad have done to improve the Maxi 1300 and look forward to seeing more Maxis in the future, particularly the smaller ones. The staff were always busy on this yacht and had many enquiries from potential customers.

The elegant Najad 570 was as admired as ever. Customers were amazed to hear that the yacht displayed was in her 4th season as she looked  so gorgeous . She was an excellent advertisement for how Najads hold their value!

The interior is particularly well received and the public seem to like her cutting edge design more each year. The technical capabilities of the yacht are always interesting as more often than not, customers want to be able to sail her short-handed and are amazed that they can do so easily. Her uncluttered decks were a source of admiration and certainly outshone some of the more established brands in this size range.

The Najad 380 was possibly the busiest boat in the boat show! Extra staff were needed to marshall the number of visitors and she was greeted with great affection by admirers of the Najad brand. Her timeless appeal reaches a huge cross-section of the yachting public – very many enquiries were taken, and brochures, boat tests and carrier bags handed out over the 10 days of the show!

The annual Najad UK owner’s dinner was a success as ever and the presence of the new English owner of Najad and the new Swedish management team was very positive. 70 Najad owners listened to Olof Seiving’s presentation of the history of Najad which was very well received (he is regarded with great affection by UK owners) and each boat was given a commemorative Najad 40th anniversary crystal paperweight to take away at the end of the evening.

The visitors to the show from outside the UK were as large as ever. We had visitors from the USA, Australia, the Far East, the Middle East, France, Italy, Scandinavia and Russia, all of whom loved our yachts. Despite the fact that the weather (truly British) wasn’t that favourable, the boat show was a great success, with the staff working really hard to make sure the boats looked their best and customers  greeted with a big smile and a ‘welcome on board one of our beautiful yachts!’.

The feeling at this year’s show was decidedly more buoyant, attendance was higher than last year, adding to the positive atmosphere, and Najad UK look forward to a good year ahead!
