Port Said, Egypt to Herzliya, Israel

We left Port Said in the morning and we had to admit it was nice to get out of there. Our nice crew, Kristin and Lars Sigve had left us to go home to Oslo from Cairo, so now we were on our own.

We left the harbour in a long line of boats and by 11.00 AM we had left the Suez Canal. And up with the sails. Perfect wind, 10-12 knots increasing to 14 knots from NW. We had a good wind-abeam course 6-7 knots speed of Ko-Ko for more than 12 hours. Life was really good.

By midnight the wind died out and we had to put the engine on. A lovely nigh in moonshine by full moon. Only interrupted by the Israeli Navy in the early morning putting their strong light right in our faces.

Coming into a beautiful marina, Herzliya Marina at 08.00 AM after a nice cross over from Egypt. 160nm.   We have sailed 976nm from Kemer to Herzliya during EMYR 2010

On the 28th we had the final dinner for EMYR2010. It was sad to say goodbye to all our new friends and we hope to see some of them again in the future.

EMYR  2010 has been a great experience for us and a special thanks to Kath and Dave Gerard and Hasan Kacmaz who has organised it all.
